It's a minor inconvenience since you can just put down a piece of paper, but not what I'd expect from a business class room. That means you can't use an optical mouse directly on the desk. There are no convenient outlets like most other hotels have, and the wooden desk has a glass top. However that desk isn't great for working at. From talking to my coworkers, the main difference is that this room comes with a desk. I purposely booked a "business class" room which cost more but this room isn't much better than a standard room. As for my room, the amenities and layout were lacking. The staff did make things right by moving my coworker, and moving a fridge to his room. Apparently this isn't an isolated occurrence since as I'm writing this review, there's a review on the side of the page that mentioned the same problem on Dec 23rd. Additionally, one of my coworkers had no heat in his room. We checked into our rooms and a few of us found there was no fridge/microwave in our room, despite being told that there was going to be. That wasn't reassuring that the staff didn't know. We were concerned if breakfast was still going to be provided, since we paid extra for breakfast. That was disappointing but not a deal breaker.
We learned the on site restaurant was closed due to renovations, which isn't mentioned on their website. When we arrived, the front desk receptionist was very friendly but not very helpful. I would later come to find out that wasn't true. Prior to booking my room, I called to confirm if there was a refrigerator and the staff confirmed my room would have one. I came traveled to Minnesota with a group for work, and we all stayed at this Radisson. All in all an excellent choice as a place to stay in downtown Minneapolis. The price for breakfast in the restaurant is on the high side, though the food is excellent and served with a very generous portion. I know hotel snacks are never a bargain, but these are high enough that it was worth the trouble to go out and get some elsewhere.
My only quibble would the prices for the extras are a touch high. The location is excellent in relation to the rest of downtown and any place you would need to go. The second morning in the restaurant, the waiter knew our order from the day before. They never walk past anyone or let anyone walk past without some form of greeting. The fitness center is well enough appointed and offers towels and complimentary bottles of water. They do a great job utilizing the space so it doesn't feel cramped yet gives options for relaxing. 6.47km from Wild Rumpus Books I was here for business and this was the hotel that was chosen for me by my hosts.
